Newcastle new stopover AND finish!

International interest
The route of the race will tracked between three countries and is anything but a Dutch clique. In last year’s edition fifteen crews from Norway, Great Britain, Holland, Belgium and Germany participated. This year the race committee will aim for at least 20 entries.

Who can participate?
All experienced sailors seeking serious short-handed sailing competition. Your boat must be 27 ft LOA or more, and manned by two people. At least one crewmember must complete the entire race. The only exception to the minimum LOA is the Open650 class, which will be held if sufficient registrations are received. For all boats: To qualify a non-stop cruise of at least 100 NM in open sea must be made.

Skills and thrills - and fun
The committee of the Lombardini Marine 1000-mile Doublehanded Race is not just in this to tackle the elements – it is also their goal to enjoy the company of the fellow sailors. The 1000-Mile Doublehanded has been designed with fleet restarts at the beginning of each leg, so all competitors, be they fast or not-so-fast, stay together and enjoy the fun at every stopover.
