|
| Sebastien Col is back to business on the World Match Racing Tour, and everything starts again quite well, as his team just took the 2nd place of the Danish Open, before going directly to the next event of the 2008 circuit: the St Moritz Match Race, which is held this week in Switzerland until September, 7. |
|
With this good result at the Danish Open, Sebastien Col reached the 2nd place of the provisional ISAF Match Racing World Championship Leaderboard.
Sebastien Col is back in the game more than ever, after a few weeks of rest. First of all, he took part to a two days training in Goteborg with serious competitors as Magnus Holmberg, Ian Williams and Torvar Mirsky. Then he fought hard until the end in Frederikshavn, Denmark, where he finally had to let the final win go to the circuit’s leader, Ian Williams.
We can’t forget though that Sebastien won the Danish Open in 2006 (his first win on the World Match Racing Tour, before winning the Korea Match Cup this year).
Sebastien Col arrives with a great spirit in St Moritz, with a potential nice week of racing, where his team will be formed of Gilles Favennec, Christophe André and Fred Guilmin.
Sebastien Col from St Moritz: “I’m very happy to sail again with Fred Guilmin (who was sailing during the 32nd America’s Cup with us), with Gilles Favennec and Christophe André. It is a great team. We will have to be at our best the whole week, because you never know what may happen with match racing. The practice race went really well, we are in a great shape and very motivated. We will have to be very focused from the very beginning.”
