Bostik has left New York City for Cherbourg

The summer atmosphere for this departure from the United States was in contrast with the fresh gale they had on their departure from Cherbourg (Normandy - France) on the last July 6th when Alexia Barrier sailed Bostik on the transatlantic from France to the United States. "We are under spinnaker with between 10 to 15 knots of winds", explained Charles Caudrelier off Ambrose Light.

"After that, we will be sailing in front of a depression which will allow us to accelerate. But at this time in the summer, we will have to sail south, far from the orthodromy (the theoretical direct course) in order to find fair winds. We will be far from the ideal course usual taken for records attempts. We should arrive around August 12th in the rade of Cherbourg".

Eventually, it is on Tuesday 29 July at 12.45pm local time (16.45 UT) that Bostik the first unit of the Veolia Oceans® one-design series for the SolOceans, crossed the mythical line of the Atlantic crossing, off Ambrose Light, towards Europe.
