Fuxia Challenge towards America’s Cup 2011

This morning at noon in the City Hall of Rijeka, Croatia there will be a press conference to announce the new sport partnership between the Sailing Club of Rijeka and Sport Xtension, the limited company owner of the trademark and sailing project “Fuxia Challenge”.

The mayor of the city Mr. Vojko Obersnel, the management of the Sailing Club (Messrs. Neven Baran President, Darko Hajdinjak VicePresident and Zoran Grubisa Secretary) and representatives of Sport Xtension ownership will attend.

The challenge is to compete in the next America’s Cup (2011), creating a multi-year project of International sailing activities. Gaetano Negotevic, mayor of Cres where the Sailing Club Rijeka is based, has been invited to the event.

“Fuxia Challenge” is a marketing platform owned by Sport Xtension, created to develop the first International sailing team exclusively made of she-sailors in the ISAF top ranking.

“The distinctive element of our project is the Innovation from all the aspects” has said Umberto Pieraccioni, partner and project leader of Sport Xtension Ltd. “The choice of a Croatian Yacht Club not only stems from the deep experience that Rijeka has recently developed, but also from the fact that, for the first time ever, Croatia would have a team competing in the America’s Cup, or rather in the worldwide èlite of sailing. Absolutely a newness in the story of this long tradition sport competition.
With this project Sport Xtension introduces itself in the sport-marketing world as the first ideas factory, with the full confidence that Fuxia Challenge will be its first case history.”
